Real Estate Taxation
Appellate Litigation
Mr. Gillis is a senior associate in the real estate
taxation and appellate litigation practice groups in
Rich, Crites & Dittmer, LLC's Columbus office. For
more than ten years, Mr. Gillis has managed our real
estate taxation department and has appeared regularly
before numerous county boards of revision, the Ohio
Board of Tax Appeals, several Ohio Courts of Appeal
and the Ohio Supreme Court.
NOTABLE ENGAGEMENTS
Mr. Gillis has successfully represented more than two
dozen Ohio school districts in obtaining increases in
real estate value and defending against reductions in
real estate value before Boards of Revision, Ohio Board
of Tax Appeals, Courts of Appeal and the Ohio Supreme
Court. Mr. Gillis has also represented numerous County
Auditors as well as property owners. The type of properties
involved include class-A downtown and suburban office
buildings, hotels, regional malls, shopping centers,
sports arenas, apartment complexes, nursing homes, hospitals,
manufacturing facilities, retail facilities, warehouses,
single family homes and vacant land.
