Mr. Crites practices in the areas of litigation and public law. His statewide litigation practice focuses on complex civil litigation, product liability defense of manufacturers and suppliers, fiduciary litigation, and business litigation involving contract disputes, copyright, trademark, trade secret and covenant-not-to-compete matters. As the former United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio, Mr. Crites regularly represents clients in the federal courts of Ohio on various criminal and civil litigation matters. Mr. Crites also represents municipalities, school districts and other political subdivisions on charter, zoning, annexation and development issues.

- Obtained favorable decision in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit challenging the constitutionality of the Ohio statutory requirements for licensing of vehicle remanufacturers.
- Successful defense of a professional in covenant-not-to-compete litigation in state court.
- Successfully represented a municipal corporation in eminent domain litigation to take a county sewer plant for use by the municipality.
- Secured dismissal of business entity in wrongful death and intentional tort action brought by the estate of a deceased employee.
- Successfully defended an international truck and manufacturing company against product liability claims in United States District Court.
- Represented business entity under federal grand jury investigation resulting in client not being charged.
- Defense of small business in trademark litigation against a Fortune 500 Company in United States District Court.
